COVID-19

Key Facts

  1. Please consider viewing Nashville’s Covid-19 metrics for yourself.  As we enter fall, infection metrics are changing.
  2. We will be temperature checking all individuals who are lodging at Hachland Hill during check-in. People with a fever of 100.4 will not be allowed on the premises (this is not our choice, but the law).
  3. We will be temperature checking individuals as they arrive for the ceremony. People with a fever of 100.4 will not be allowed to stay on the premises and view the ceremony.  This is very painful, but it is for the health and safety of all of us.
  4. We have wristbands to help everyone gracefully broadcast their social distancing wishes.  See more on this below
  5. The entire ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be outdoors.  Even with rain, we’ll be able to keep everyone outside.
  6. At this time, masks are not required for the outdoor parts, but required for using an indoor bathroom. We have elegant disposable black masks just for this purpose, but you are welcome to bring your own.
  7. The food for the reception will be a “no-touch”, spacious buffet provided by the Hachland Hill staff.
  8. There will be no dancing, but we will have some really incredible live music 😀

Social Distancing Wristbands

We’ll have velvet bands provided to help you indicate your level of comfort with social distancing. Please respect the wishes of others!

Notice

It feels odd to sit down and put into words what we all knew was coming and why. This season of uncertainty has forced people all over the world to drastically alter their daily lives and to adjust plans, especially for large gatherings. Our wedding, scheduled for November 7th at Hachland Hill, was an evening in which we were very much invested; hundreds of save-the-dates had been printed and mailed, stellar venders were booked, and we continued to dream about the day as our guests made arrangements to come to Nashville from far and wide.

However, as events in our once-busy city were cancelled, leaving public spaces empty of the hustle and bustle that they were accustomed to, we knew that our wedding would need to look different, too. We considered pushing the date back, or splitting up the ceremony and reception into two separate events. For months we went back and forth. In the end, neither option really appealed to us. This prompted us to make the decision to celebrate our marriage in a much more intimate setting with only our immediate family. Ultimately we felt a high degree of responsibility for making plans that would protect our community and loved ones.

We plan on having a very small wedding at Hachland Hill on November 7th 2020 filled with precautions to help everyone feel safe and enjoy the celebration. As we confirm those precautions. We will list them here.

Steps & Precautions

As November 7th approaches, we would like to inform our beloved guests of the COVID-19 precautions we are implementing, so that everyone can make informed decisions about their health and travel plans.

Our wedding will be outdoors with free air flow. The dinner will be served in an open-sided tent. The seating for the ceremony and dinner both will be arranged to respect social distancing. We encourage the use of masks, but while we are outdoors and distanced, they are not required. Guests will be arranged by family groups, and dinner will be seated (no lines for buffet – hooray!). Food will be served on individual plates by catering staff following CDC protocol. We will have several spaced out bars to top off your glass of wine, also following all recommended safety guidelines. Hand sanitizer will be abundant and easily accessible. Although this is a joyous event and we encourage lots of smiling and boisterous conversations, we ask that you avoid hugging or physical contact with those outside of your family group (but we want a rain check for those hugs!)

Please know we are closely watching the situation in Nashville. The city’s current statistics are kept updated here: https://www.asafenashville.org/ We suggest you check this page as you make travel plans in advance, and again before you leave for Nashville. While we are very much looking forward to seeing all of you in November, it is important that you put the health of you and your family first. If you must change your RSVP, we completely understand – just please let us know so we can update our vendors!
